Why is it the government’s (ANY government’s) business to regulate who I fall in love with and who I want to make a life long commitment to? Judges overturn gay-marriage bans because the judicial branch of our government exists to protect the “little guy” in situations like this. Yes, the majority of Americans oppose same-sex marriage, but
minorities have to be protected in a free society like ours. Otherwise, we would still have
separate bathrooms and water fountains for black people and
women wouldn’t be allowed to vote. I don’t believe that allowing same-sex marriage will have a large impact on our society as most conservatives believe. Heterosexual marriages don’t affect MY life. How will a marriage to my partner affect theirs? President Bush supports
DISCRIMINATION and I can’t wait to see him go on January 20, 2009.
